The key to guarantee a correct and lasting installation in our floors is in the adequate preparation of the floor, the adhesive and a correct procedure for its installation.  

But to get to this, we must correctly choose the type of floor and the format in which we need to use it depending on the needs of our areas. For them we must know the types of floors that we can find. 

Types of floors

There are different types of floors, we can be talking about ceramic or laminate, each with different properties, so we tell you their characteristics. 

• Ceramics. 

• Porcelain tile.  

Ceramic floor 

Ceramic floors are tiles of different formats that, thanks to current technologies, manage to resemble textures and designs that look like wood or natural stone, in addition, they are created with highly durable materials, resistant to friction and with a wide variety of shades.

Porcelain floor 

Porcelain tile floors are coatings made of high-quality ceramic, they offer us different models and formats, they are subjected to high-temperaturetreatment and compaction pressures higher than those used in conventional ceramic floors. 

Therefore, once we decide on the correct floor, we can proceed to install it. 

ONDITION THE SPACE  

• Perform proper cleaning of the area where the installation of our new floor will take place.  

• If there are cracks, fissures, holes or any other defect, we recommend you make the necessary repairs. Among these corrections we have to make sure that the substrate in which we are going to install the floor is level, it is recommended to use filler to level it or self-leveling material. 

  
  

SELECT THE RIGHT ADHESIVE  

• Take  into account the needs of the work and the characteristics to choose the best product, which guarantees functional and long-lasting work.  

• In addition to taking into account the type of floor you want to install, installing pool mosaics is not the same as installing a wood-finished ceramic floor. 

• Remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions to create the mixture, since  each brand has different specifications. 

SUITABLE NOZZLE

• To select the appropriate nozzles for the installation of your floors, we recommend that you always check the measurement indicated for their separation in the box of ceramic pieces, rely on the use of spacers and  spacers. 

• For the choice of the nozzle we must consider the color of  the Flooring Installation that we are going to install, since there is a wide variety of  shades and for it to combine we recommend that you use nozzles with similar colors on dark floors, on light floors, we recommend white or light colors. Remember that nozzles are difficult to clean, so choosing the right color is necessary. 

FRESH AGHESIVE

• When installing your floor, always use fresh adhesive to ensure a good fixation. Remember that each type of adhesive has a different shelf life after it has been  prepared.  

INSTALLATION  

• We  recommend scratching the adhesive with a notched trowel, leaving lines in only one direction.  

PLACEMENT  

• Place the perimeter joints, leaving a gap of 6 to 9 mm between the wall and the ceramic pieces. We recommend that before starting, you make a plan so that you can plan how to place the tiles and try to ensure that the cuts or excess remain on the edges.
