Funimation's BD/DVD slated for January 16

FUNimation Entertainment began streaming an English-dubbed trailer for The Morose Mononokean on Monday. The company has not yet the English dub cast.

Funimation plans to release the anime on Blu-ray Disc and DVD combo pack on January 16.

Crunchyroll streamed the 12-episode series as it aired beginning in 2016. Crunchyroll is also publishing Kiri Wazawa's original manga digitally in English.

Funimation describes the story:

Ashiya Hanae's life is turned upside down when he's possessed by a yokai! His only help comes in Abeno Haruitsuki, a handsome young man known as the “Master of the Mononokean.” But his aid comes at a price, one that has Ashiya working as his assistant to pay it off! Can they stop bickering with each other long enough to help the yokai trapped in this world?

Akira Iwanaga (Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee, Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, Isuca) directed the anime adaptation of Wazawa's manga at Pierrot Plus. Takao Yoshioka (Ikki Tousen, High School DxD, Your Lie in April) handled series composition. Atsuko Kageyama designed the characters, and Yasuharu Takanishi (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Boruto -Naruto the Movie-) composed the music.
